Enjoy ten weeks of intensive art for ‘tweens and teens 5th grade and up! Come after school and get your hands messy creating real, authentic art that’s both dazzling to the eye and satisfying to the soul. All our workshops encourage personal expression, problem solving, discussion, and efficient, inventive use of media. Register for the Wednesday session or the Thursday session – or both! | Description: | •Wednesday session (UPDATE: Starts 2/29) Subject Study, Material Exploration & Creativity Challenge Students will be challenged as they pick a different subject from a hat at random each week. Students will then explore this subject for the day, with three different materials. By providing the subject for the student, the time-consuming and difficult process of picking a subject is eliminated, and the student can focus on the subject explore the materials they are working with in greater depth. Such materials include: recycled materials, paint, pen & ink, pastels, charcoal, plaster and more!•Thursday Session (Starts 1/26) Observation, Exploration & Re-Invention Students will have the opportunity to learn techniques, explore and develop their imagination and visual representation through a variety of media, such as pen and ink, paints, pastels, mosaics, printmaking, found materials and plaster. In this workshop, we will stimulate each child’s innate creativity by providing thought-provoking resources to help them find inspiration for their artwork; and support personal expression, problem solving and efficient, inventive use of media as children participate in group discussions about their art process. Using inspirations throughout history, each student will explore the use of color, shape, line, 3-dimensional, size, and emotion to create works of art. |
